Bootable OS like Ubuntu, Linux, possibly also Macrium Reflect recovery.

What you also could do is connect the drive to a different system, boot from the original drive and move files from the different system.

Darn it I thought that would happen because the Emsisoft runs in a Windows environment thought it was worth a try though.

Now without going right back through did we try the Kaspersky rescue disk?

Try booting from a Macrium WinPE ISO, either written to CD/DVD or USB. In the menu bar at the top is an option to repair the boot record. This might be able to get Windows booting again. Let me know if you need a Macrium WinPe ISO, and I'll post a link for you.

I'm hoping all the Linux experimentation hasn't made the situation any worse.

Hi guys I was on a vacation last week so thats why I havent posted anything new. So the good news is that the notebok is working again, but only because I bought a new SSD and did a clean install of win 7. As for my data, I wasnt able to recover anything and I tried numerous methods and tools..

Only thing I have left at this point is a image of the disk which I made using ddrescue on ubuntu so I might try to salvage atleast some files from it. So if some of you guys has some experience with extracting data from a disk image feel free to share some tips.

Well at least you are going and the best two methods are the ones I linked to ie the Ubuntu method I use and this Emergency Kit - save your files from a dead OS

The other recovery stuff I think we already went through eh?

Ok I guess we can finally close this, I tried maybe dozen of softwares/approaches and at last this one EaseUS | Data Recovery, Backup, Partition Manager & PC Utility Software helped me out.

After I got the new SSD so I hooked in the old one and was able to recover everything I needed. This software gives you about 2GB free space to recover stuff before you have to buy the premium version so thats great. Thanks again everyone who contributed to this thread.
