Hello and thank you again for the continued help! :)

I installed DDU, booted into safemode, then started DDU and ran "clean and restart" then downloaded the drivers from amd and installed them, but the problem doesn't look like its gone away. I just tried to watch a 1080p video on Youtube and the CPU was running at 70-100% and the video was stuttering.

I looked up "atikmdag" with the Search Everything program and it came back with multiple atikmdag.sys and atikmdag.sy_ located in different folders in my computer. I took a screenshot of the list of atikmdag.sys and atikmdag.sy_ locations after I used DDU to uninstall the drivers and then I took another screenshot after I installed the amd driver. I can see the new atikmdag.sys installed in the "After AMD driver installed" picture, but the other files don't get uninstalled by DDU, or get installed by the AMD driver. I uploaded the pictures to the original post.

I think these may be conflicting with each other, I don't know if there is supposed to be multiples or how there is so many of them. I don't know if I should delete the other ones.

    Okay, thanks for the update.

I can recommend that you use this tool instead of DDU:

Download Revo Uninstaller Freeware - Free and Full Download - Uninstall software, remove programs, solve uninstall problems

Scroll down and take the freeware version.

If Revo Uninstaller doesn't find anything, you can also tick the box in DDU "remove C:/AMD folder".

You can also try to use CCLeaner after you have booted into Windows after using DDU.

    Fingers crossed, mate!

    Cheers, Boris :)

What am I looking for with the Revo Uninstaller? I just installed it and only see a list of programs and such installed on my computer. I looked up "atikmdag" and it didn't come back with any findings and I only see the AMD system monitor and AMD install manager. I don't want to continue to DDU and CCleaner without using Revo first if it can find something.

Oh I'm sorry, I assumed that you had reinstalled the graphics card drivers and they again caused problems?

And by using Revo that would basically uninstall again because it didn't work with DDU, I'm sorry for making things more complicated.

After using DDU I reinstalled the drivers, but the problem seemed to still be there. I think DDU didn't uninstall the other atikmdag.sys and atikmdag.sy_ files because they are located in different folders that may not be normal for DDU to uninstall from. They are probably from past driver updates that I messed up on or something.

I'm wondering about the multiple atikmdag.sys and atikmdag.sy_ causing conflicts, I am pretty sure there isn't supposed to be multiple of these but I don't want to go deleting files without knowing for sure it's alright first.

Don't worry about making things more complicated, any help is awesome, and working with computers is always complicated :)

Okay so if I now understood all of that correctly, you have now installed the graphics card drivers?

If yes, then use Revo and search for your graphics card drivers there, it should be AMD Catalyst Control Center or something similar.

And after that you can use CCleaner, it will probably find those sys and sy_ files causing the compatibility issues when installing the new drivers.

    Cheers, Boris :)

I am out of ideas, the problem is still here, still using 100% of my CPU just watching a 1080p video on youtube. I ran DDU and uninstalled the drivers and deleted the AMD folder. Then reinstalled the drivers and ran Revo and CCleaner. I ran the registry cleaner and regular cleaner with CCleaner and it fixed a lot of issues that popped up.

I looked up the atikmdag.sys and atikmdag.sy_ with "Search Everything" and there are definetley less of them but still more than 1 of each, or however many there should be, I don't know.

Oh okay, but you haven't received any error about atikmday.sys then?

Alright and what does take up the 100% in Task Manager when you are watching the videos?

No, no errors about them yet, and no crashes since the 1 BSOD in the begging that caused all of this.

When I'm watching a 1080p video, in task manager it shows chrome.exe taking up the most CPU usage with about 400,000k memory and then svchost.exe takes up about 185,000k.

Okay nice to hear about the atikmdag.sys news, there is still hope :)

And are you running a fully updated chrome? How about addons, any of those installed?

    Please download and run this:

    AdwCleaner

    Cheers, Boris :)
