BSOD bug check 10d on shutdown
I have an Intel DG965WH motherboard with Core2 Duo processor. This week I updated my 32-bit Vista Home Premium to Windows 7 home premium (32-bit). Sadly, every time I would try to shutdown or restart I would get BSOD with bugcheck 10d. I searched extensively for a resolution with no luck. Finally, by trial and error, I found that stopping ELService.exe in task manager avoided the problem. Further research determined this is the Intel Quick Resume Technology Driver. The Intel support website indicates this isn't supported on Vista, though it wasn't causing me any problems there (that I was aware of).
To uninstall, I had to use task manager to end ELService.exe, then go to Uninstall Programs in CP and uninstall Intel Quick Resume Technology. Now I can shutdown cleanly. I don't know if there is any downside to having removed this.
I just thought I would post this info in case anyone else is having this trouble, or in case anyone can give me guidance on quick resume functionality in Windows 7.
