Persistant BSoDs, crashes, and driver malfunctions for several months

    Hey all, I've done most of those steps before, but I went ahead and did them again just to be thorough. I also ran a Junkware cleaner and C-cleaner. Did find some issues, but nothing that I would imagine would cause these problems. Granted, it's entirely possible that I could be wrong, but it hasn't solved the problem, nonetheless.

    So, either the problems caused permanent damage, or the cause is something else.

    A question, though. Is there any risk for me installing a new GPU at the moment? I imagine if there's something like an electrical problem, it might short a new GPU. I guess I want to know if you think there's a significant risk, or should I go ahead and replace my GPU and see if that's the problem.

    Just got my new GPU in the mail today, I think I should be fine with the warranty either way, but I'd still like your opinions.

    Now if you are worried about the new GPU and power you can check either physically using a digital meter the power to the GPU or you can just check the PSU out using this
    Using HW Info
    PART A:
    You can test the volts on the PSU with HW Info HWiNFO, HWiNFO32/64 - Download < download the right bit version and close the right hand window select Sensors and scroll down to the power section where you will see what the volts are doing see my pic. In my pic the section (Nuvoton) with VBATT is a dead give away you are in the section for the rail voltages. There are other section titles and one that pops up often is ITE
    Now the voltage on the different rails have to be within 5% =+/- of what is required or the machine will not work properly if at all.
    IE
    12v = 11.4v min to 12.6max
    5v = 4.75v min 5.25v max
    3.3v = 3.135v min to 3.465v max

    The original right hand window shows the machine running and is handy for that but for looking at the components in some detail close it and use the main left hand side panel
    FOR OTHER COMPONENTS
    PART B:
    Open each small square with + in it on the section the components are in and then click on the individual component/s (it will highlight in blue) - in the right hand side will appear all sorts of details including brands speeds and other essential info that particular device. See pic for example.

    I will try that when I get home. I have already installed the new GPU and run some tests, and everything seems to be running alright so far. I've been using something called... OCPPTC? Something like that. But, up until just recently, my PC would crash running any kind of tests, regardless of whether it was for the GPU or the PSU or anything like that. So the fact that I was able to run a test--any test--to completion is a definite improvement.

    Tentatively hopeful that the problem is solved.

    Oh. Oh! God, that took longer than it probably need to. This looks similar to what you've marked in your example. I was trying to find specific voltage numbers, but I guess I only really need to make sure that 12v is operating at 12v, etc.

    Hopefully this is what you were talking about. Unless I'm missing something, it looks like everything is operating as planned.

    Sorry late reply mate been busy and yep the volts look ok as long as they fall within those limits I posted in the ditty I wrote up. Now all voltages are important not just the 12v as they all play specific parts in the system.

    Cool. I guess for now, then, the problem is solved. I'll keep the thread open for a little while as I test things for the next few days, but hopefully this will be the last you hear from me.

    Ok mate well keep us posted and in any case you may be able to take part in some of the discussions every little bit helps and I found my way around from having problems getting others to help me through it and then see someone with a similar problem to what I had could have some input. It is very fulfilling I find especially when you get something right

    But that is just my take on it you possibly have better things to do:)
