Windows 7 x86 and x64 - RTM

I have the exact same problem (error 10 with Toredo yellow exclamation point)..this prevents me from setting up a Homegroup.

I admit that way back from the beginning of testing the Win 7 beta that I disabled everything IPv6 but I have tried to get everything back in working order...this last step has me puzzled.

I have also had the same issue. My understanding is that the Teredo Tunneling Pseudo-Interface is required to set up a homegroup between Windows 7 computers. It cannot start unless the IPV6 is enabled or else the error (code 10) comes up.

In my case it was Zonealarm that causing the issue, even though it was not running at startup. However, I found that ZA has a config page that allows IPV6 or not. Enabling IPV6, got the Teredo.... working and hence the homegroup functionality.

Other spyware/virus apps may have the same issue is they have been installed even if they are not running.

Solved the problem with System Restore!!!!!

YES ! I didn't expect system restore would do that.!! I have a windows 7 ultimate. All was going well untill i installed zone alarm. my laptop started to hang and the BSOD appeared and i was afraid what went wrong. I guessed it was ZA the immediately uninstalled it and after that another problem came up "TEREDO TUNNELING PSEUDO INTERFACE - CODE 10" I tried to solve the problem by configuring ZA but i cudn't find where to change what. So i ended up at not able to connect to internet. Thats when i tried system restore and it worked clean and my laptop was running well and no BSODs and no hang ups and no Network adapter problems...!!

I HOPE THIS WORKS..... THIS IS MY FIRST DAY IN 7FORUMS....

Teredo tunneling is essentially allows IP6 packets to travel through IP6 unaware routers and switches. Which explains why IP6 needs to be enabled.

These instructions are from ZoneAlarm Internet Security Suite v9.1. Try this...
  1. Click Firewall (left side main menu)
  2. Ensure 'Main' highlighted on left menu under 'Firewall'; click [Advanced] button on right side
  3. Under 'Network Settings' section, last checkbox = 'Enable IPv6 Networking'; check to enable IPv6
Hope that helps.

No guarantee's there at all, in fact both Zone Alarm and AVG have been known to cause problems with Homegroup sharing.
