85% cpu usage due to system interrupts, Help?!

HP Pavilion, AMD Phenom 2.2 Quad Core
6GB Ram, Nvidia 9100 on board graphics, etc.

Previously had Vista and had no problems. "Upgraded" to 7 and have had nothing but problems. My CPU usage is at 85% and when I go to the performance monitor is tells me that "system interrupts" are what is using the cpu.

I've updated my drivers to windows 7 ones from HP.

I've tried disabling the audio controller per suggestion from others with a similar problem.

    Neither has done anything.

The problems disappears after I reboot and then seems to come back when I open a program that uses the cpu much.

Any ideas at all? I wish I could go back to Vista but I didn't create backup discs..

    Thanks

That just it, no programs running. The system interrupts are eating up my cpu cycles, not a program.

It's probably from a bad or incompatible driver you installed.

But you could try something first: Update the bios to latest from the motherboard manufacturer.
