    BSOD: Windows7 Ult.64, since 4gb ram, Acer 5920G

    Hey,

Since I changed my default laptop 2x 1gb ram to 2x2gb from kingston I get random bluescreens, sometimes in the first seconds watching a vid with vlc, sometimes when I haven't touch the laptop and start moving the mouse, and some other situations. 9 hour memtest shows no errors, haven't tried them separately.
Going back to my old ram (which was fine before) is not an option, since it makes starting 32 bit programs impossible (something about syswow64). BIOS update won't work while in w7 & the boot cd's I made keep loading..

I'm up to date with Acer's w7 64 bit drivers..

    Specs:
    Acer Aspire 5920G-302G16N
    Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit
Intel Core 2 Duo Mobile T7300 (2.0 GHz)
    Intel Crestline-PM PM965
    Kingston 4GB DDR2-667 DDR2 SDRAM (New)
    1GB Intel Turbo Memory
    NVIDIA GeForce 8600M GT TurboCache
    160GB HDD

    Thanks,

    Hi and welcome

With only one BSOD and very little info in it. I am going to have to be more general than I would like. This kind of crash can be caused by three things. Hardware (incompatible or bad), Software (the OS or other), and memory.

Since you have already run memtestx86 I would start by upgrading the drivers listed below. They are 3 years old and I suspect you didnt do a clean install whan you upgraded to win 7

Run a system file check to verify and repair your systems files. You may need to run it more than once. Run it untill the replort generated says no errors found.

    If you are overclocking STOP
If you have a raud update its driver.

I suspect this isnt going to be pinpointed until more bsod's occur.

Intel released a newer driver for it's turbo memory and Windows 7, it might be worth a try.

Here are my last 3 bsod's (had more before, but they got removed by ccleaner).
Narrowed 2006 drivers down to 1 (secdrv), the 2008 drivers (except the adobe driver, reinstall wouldnt update it) are windows default drivers for a modem that otherwise would use a 2006 driver. As I said, i'm up to date with all the other drivers, and now they are w7 only. And it was a clean install. I'll do long individual ram tests soon.

Secdrv.sys is alright and not a problem causer. Please update these drivers:

I have 1 more problem, maybe it helps:
Sometimes aero turns off, plus my wireless internet, with troubleshoot I can fix the internet & in some minutes it all restores by itself.

That's probably due to MpNWMon.sys and MSE needing update.
