5-6 full re-installs, still BSODs under process load on Aspire One Hey everybody,
This is my first post and I am trying out 7 on my Acer Aspire One netbook. I know its not very powerful, but it is running 7 nicely (when it does run..)
In any case, I am dual booting 7 and XP from this 1.6 atom, 1gb ram netbook. The install always goes smoothly and so do most programs. However, I will get BSODs regularly when the system is under load doing lots of tasks. The error messages seem to be different every time. I have gotten volsnap.sys, bad pool caller, and lots more. Superfetch will often crash as well. The screens flash by so quickly I can't always see the exact error messages.
These are appearing after clean installs of 7 with 2-3 programs installed. I have attached one of the minidumps if that would help, but any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
Thanks in advance!

The memory dump file is from February 24, 2009 - is this the most recent BSOD that you've received? Is the time and date on your system correctly set?
A quick scan of the memory dump file shows that your Intel graphics drivers are likely to be a problem - but there's also some indication of a compatibility issue.
Please visit the Intel website to update your graphics drivers to the latest Windows 7 version. If you're unable to obtain these, please post back for further suggestions.
Your touchpad drivers are out of date also, please update them from Synaptics: Drivers | Synaptics
Install them in Compatibility mode for ALL users, selecting "Run as Windows Vista" and "Run as administrator".
Here's the analysis of the memory dump: Code: Microsoft (R) Windows Debugger Version 6.11.0001.404 AMD64

SYSTEM_THREAD_EXCEPTION_NOT_HANDLED_M (1000007e)
This is a very common bugcheck. Usually the exception address pinpoints
the driver/function that caused the problem. Always note this address
as well as the link date of the driver/image that contains this address.
Some common problems are exception code 0x80000003. This means a hard
coded breakpoint or assertion was hit, but this system was booted
/NODEBUG. This is not supposed to happen as developers should never have
hardcoded breakpoints in retail code, but ...
If this happens, make sure a debugger gets connected, and the
system is booted /DEBUG. This will let us see why this breakpoint is
happening.
Arguments:
Arg1: c0000005, The exception code that was not handled
Arg2: 8b044f16, The address that the exception occurred at
Arg3: 806776e0, Exception Record Address
Arg4: 806772c0, Context Record Address

Do you get the BSOD's in XP as well? Or only Windows 7? If your answer is the latter, then do as mentioned above and update all your drivers. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number DELL VOSTRO 3750 OS Windows 7 Professional x64 CPU 2nd generation Intel Core i5‐2450M (2C/4T, 2.5GHz, 3M Memory 6GB DDR3 Graphics Card NVIDIA GeForce GT 525M (128 bit), 1GB Grpahics Monitor(s) Displays 17.3 inch High Definition LED Display with anti Screen Resolution (1600 x 900) Hard Drives 500GB 5400 RPM SATA Hard Drive |

Reed RC
The minidump zip had a bsod from today, and one from feb 2009. the one today was caused by win32k.sys.
Ms stated This problem occurs if the Win32k.sys Windows file conflicts with a device driver that is installed on your computer.
So Im thinking driver. could you fill in your system specs if you haven't (in lower left corner of your posts). Have you updated all you drivers? is the Os 32 bit? Clean install or upgrade?
Ken
