Freeze/Hang Up/Lockup Temporary Fix

It seems that a Freez/Hang/Lock up can have many different causes
and takes some time to fix. One bad thing is the START button doesn't work
so you cannot do a normal RESTART to get back on line to look for ways to fix it.
So instead of doing the power switch OFF-ON, OFF-ON routine, which is bad
why not fix the power switch so when pressed doesn't turn off the power but
does the controlled restart routine instead. This way your data is not lost etc.
To do this you may have to dig in the hardware to change the power switch
signal from going to the gate of the POWER Off circuit to the gate of the RESTART circuit instead. Of course complete power removal/apllication is by using the PLUG
So who can find out how to hardwire the change.
