    Random Hangs

Windows 7 Home Premium, 32 bit laptop, 2 GB RAM, computer hangs randomly. IF I can make ctrl-alt-delete work I get an options screen I click close and everything is fine. I generally don't actually have to open Task Manager or shut down and reboot. I can't tie it to a specific program. No data loss, just massive annoyance and delays.

It came with Vista but it was slow so I installed the Win 7 beta with various updates from April. It was great, such an improvement. I did a clean install shortly after Win 7 release. I did NOT have this problem with beta.

I also have a 64 bit Vista desktop with 8 GB RAM, am not seeing this although if it only happened once or twice I wouldn't have given it a lot of thought.

I have contacted MS Security Essentials support since that was something new but it doesn't appear to be it.

Since you did not have this with the Beta version of Window 7 and you (along with many others) have it now with the final version, I cannot help but think Microsoft changed something and it is causing the Hangs. I got frustrated as not only hangs increased but also system slowing way down to the point of having to tap your fingers and wait up to a minute or so (at best) for it to respond, or complete hangup requiring a reboot.
I have tried several things such as turning off all 3rd Party software by clicking on START then typing msconfig in the search window and putting it in diagnostic mode, then unchecking software you recognise. Then rebooting the machines.
