Windows Explorer Repeatedly Crashes

Hi everybody, I'm hoping I can get some help here because this problem is really frustrating

I have Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit and ever since the first day I installed it I have been getting repeated Windows Explorer crashes and which require Explorer to restart. These crashes happen mostly from right clicking on something or using hotkeys to copy. I have copied several of the problem signatures and I will paste them below. Thanks in advance for any help!

Hi and welcome

app crash is often caused by DEP. If in event viewer (type eventvwr in search) you go to windows logs>application tab and find errors that list app crash and have the event ID 1000 source 100, it is more than likely DEP.

DEP or data execution prevention is located in system control panel>advanced settings>performance> DEP and is by default set to win apps only. You can exclude explorer from the list but only if you are sure it isnt a virus and have the event viewer ID listed above.

If you need help PM me

Windows 7 Professional 64bit

I encountered similar error but for the Application name: frmbld.frm

I solved it by following this
1. msconfig
2. system config>>tools
3. Change UAC Settings
-> set to Never notify me >>ok >>restart

now the problem is solved.

Use this work around if its something you are looking for.

Windows 7 Ultimate x64

I have a similar problem, but when directed to disable DEP on Explorer.exe, I get an error message that I can't do that with a 64 bit exe. My error message is:

Problem Event Name: APPCRASH
Application Name: explorer.exe
Application Version: 6.1.7601.17567
Application Timestamp: 4d672ee4
Fault Module Name: EXPLORERFRAME.dll
Fault Module Version: 6.1.7601.17514
Fault Module Timestamp: 4ce7c6a8
Exception Code: c0000005
Exception Offset: 00000000000411d1
OS Version: 6.1.7601.2.1.0.256.1
Locale ID: 1033
Additional Information 1: 5659
Additional Information 2: 5659bf5e341780a265bd9817b4564082
Additional Information 3: 3c43
Additional Information 4: 3c433399424e4e49adf88e8153b9714e

It appears that my problem is somehow related to the EXPLORERFRAME.dll
Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I can't launch explorer from a shortcut or quicklaunch icon, but have to rely on explorer launched by anoter method like run, save as, or open.
