Explorer.exe crashing frequently on right click
Hello all, I've been driven batty over this windows 7 bug, which of course only happens on my main machine and not any other, and seems to have survived reloads... Either way, frequently (in spurts, doesn't do it for a while, then does it constantly even after reboots, then dies down for a while) windows explorer will crash and restart, often times triggered by right clicking for a context menu on any explorer process item (my computer, desktop, etc). My first thought was a shell extension but after disabling everything non-ms, it is still doing it. Ironically, the only other problem is that after restarting I will always get the 'files waiting to be written to CD' balloon, which of course I can't clear either (tried deleting the files in the CD writing temp directory, nothing on a CD shows to be 'waiting' either). Here's the skinny:
Faulting modules listed at different times through AppLog:
ntdll.dll (most common)
msvcrt.dll (2nd most common)
MFPlay.DLL (once)
OLE32.dll (rarely)
Things Tried:
Disable shell extensions
Virus Scan (although happens on a new fresh load, so virus highly unlikely)
Update drivers
Remove programs (although again, on fresh load, so 3rd party apps unlikely though may exacerbate of course)
SFC scan for corruption (none found)
Full 48 hour memory test
As I'm now pretty much out of ideas and suggestions made to others, I've decided to ask for help on this one; I've attached a minidump (Win7x64) to this so if H2SO4 or others are better at reading it than I am (which wouldn't take much, my WinDbg-Fu is very weak) I'd love to see if they can determine the cause! Finally, at my system specs show I'm running a P5Q-Pro with an E8500 and 4Gb of G-Skill RAM, all at and always have been stock clock rates. I'd be happy to entertain just about anything sane to try as I'm at my wits end with this!
Thanks in advance,
