Strange Freezing when running anything graphics related

    Good Afternoon,

I am new here so please feel free to let me know if I am not following any rules etc.

So I have a PC that seems to be freezing when I run anything related to graphics, be that a flash movie, streaming video, watching DVD's or playing games.

I work in the industry so I am not totally clueless but this one has got me stumped and Google doesn't seem to help.

At first I thought it was crashing as I got a horrible stuck type sound associated with it, the sounds sticks at the point the computer freezes and you get a buzzing type noise.

Today I finally noticed that it wasnt a crash as the little circle on the cursor started to move around so I waited and after about 30 seconds the computer springs back to life.

Now there is nothing in the event logs relating to a warning or error of any kind, nothing has closed etc when it comes back and it will resume the video etc after catching up with itself through a kind of fast forwarding.

Now I am not sure what exactly I need to post in order to get this going so if it is ok can I wait for some form of instructions?

    Basic PC specs etc below

    Windows 7 Enterprise x64
    Intel Core 2 Duo E6600
    ABIT AB9 QuadGT mobo
    4 x 1GB Corsair PC2-6400
160GB Samsung drive (running just windows and some programs)
1TB WD drive (mainly for files)
    Creative SB XFI sound card

Any help would be greatly appreciated as I am totally out of ideas now.

    Thanks in advance

    Matt

► Got it from your event log:

    Level: Error

    .
Windows Media player is a windows feature, so it cannot be reinstalled.

Your BIOS is very old, try to update it.
    Code:
BIOS Version/Date Phoenix Technologies, LTD 6.00 PG, 11/12/2006
► Update your ATI display Driver.

► Run SFC /SCANNOW Command - System File Checker

    ► Update Adobe Flash Player.

Let us know the situation after doing all these.
