My WinDev development system is hanging

    Hi guys,

I'm new to the forum... and hope someone can help.

I've just upgraded my HP laptop to Windows 7 Home Premium and I'm experincing a problem (which I also experinced under Vista Business on this PC).

I have a development system called WinDev (i don't think this is at fault), but when I go to a certain window which involves the dev system to look for certain template files - the software hangs.

It seemed to be working fine until I installed some drivers for a Trust Predator mouse and now every time I go to this window I get the same hanging problem. If I close the dev software, then whenever I right click, whichever option I pick from the pop-up menu whether in the dev software or just in Window the option I select is left on the screen (semi-transparent) - it's driving me mad!!!

I've gone back to the restore point, so my system (in theory) is back to the point before the driver was installed - not sure if System Restore sorts out the registry as well???

Does anyone know (or can advise) what the following dump means (this is taken from the window that pops up telling you your program has stopped responding)?

Thanks in advance for any help or if you can shed some light into what's causing this...

Sounds like the mouse drivers and that software don't play well. Try removing the mouse drivers.

    Hi,

    Thanks for taking the time...

I've un-installed them, re-booted but still get the same problem...

Having just upgraded to W7, I thought this would solve it, but no...

So it's happening in W7 home prem & was happening under Vista Business as well.

Must be the WinDev app in some way.

A lot of people (if not the majority) have this problem with IE or their web browsers in general, but my IE seems to work fine - it manifests itself with my WinDev app only!

Normally I can figure stuff like this out... but we're talking about the inner workings of windows processes and windows system apps... not a clue!

You may try uninstalling your WinDev program as well, and rebooting. From there you should clean your registry. Then reinstall WinDev. Let us know if it still occurs.
