    Task Manager cannot be found.

    Hello. I have big problem!

Whenever I try to start taskmgr.exe it says that the file can't be found. I don't know how this started, but it is really annoying.
I have the file in "C:\Windows\system32\taskmgr.exe". Also copied the same file from another PC and it still says that taskmgr cannot be found! What should I do to fix this.
I protect my PC with KIS 2010.

    To access task manager
    try alt cntl delete

right click on notification area (right side of task bar)

If you cannot find task manager, do a system restore, after you do a sfc /scannow.
You may also, want to try a repair install after the sfc.

Finally, With the win7 DVD, just do an upgrade, which is now a repair.

Actually I've tried both of the above ways of starting task manager, but none of them works. When I do ctrlaltdelete, it doesn't show anything and returns me to desktop. And if i do that on the taskbar, it shows me that error.

If i do repair with the dvd, will i lose some data or something?

first try this Go to search type cmd (you must be in an adminstrtror account) the in the cmd type sfc /scannow.

You lose nothing with a SR, but first make a system restore image, before you do the SR, so you could go back if you do not like the results.

The DVD will just chage the OS, not your personal folders etc

If I were you, before doing anything, I would make a system image on some external and save it, Just in case things go wrong, which they often do.
