I just recently upgraded my windows vista 32 bit to windows 7 32bit, i restarted my computer and now everytime i turn it on it goes through the opening screen which just says " acer" and gives option of f12:boot menu and del:enter setup. it is literally stuck at the black screen., doesnt get to desktop or login screen i tried pressing f8 but no list of safe modes and such. any other options?

Hi Leminhh! Insert your Windows 7 Disk and see if you get an option to boot from CD/DVD. If not go into BIOS (F12 at Acer screen) and look for Boot Order and put Optical Drive or CD Drive first. Then SAVE and reboot.

When you can boot into the Windows 7 DVD, follow these instructions to do a Startup Repair. Startup Repair

If it doesn't work first time, try it three times. If it still doesn't work, please post back with what happens.

OK, from the list of Recovery Options

choose System Restore. Select one of the Restore Points. And press OK.

Just a guess, and the last time I did, luckily Zeshan was there to watch my back. So heres my guess. Go to the boot menu and make sure you are set to boot from the hard drive and not a dvd/cd. Im guessing thats the cause. You prob botted from the Windows 7 dvd and now you have to put it back the way it was.

Ok, Again from the same Recovery Options. Select command prompt and type:"fixmbr" (No quotes) and press enter. Reboot. It should work.

If that doesn't work, go to Command Prompt again but this time type: "fixboot" (Again, no quotes) and press enter. Reboot.
