Those are pesky little scoundrels

Man, life of a windows user is hard, isn't it?

I have been trying to find solutions to those but to no avail
If you have a chance, idea, time please contribute.

my event viewer says:
Display is not active
source: atikmdag
event id: 43029

CPLIB :: General - Invalid Parameter
source: atikmdag

The driver \Driver\WUDFRd failed to load for the device WpdBusEnumRoot\UMB\2&37c186b&1&STORAGE#VOLUME#_??_RIMSPTSK#DISK&VEN_RICOH&PROD_MEMORYSTICKSTORAGE&RE V_1.00#MS0001#.

Failed to create restore point (Process = C:\Windows\system32\svchost.exe -k netsvcs; Description = Windows Update; Error = 0x80042313).
event id: 8193

more of the last two started appearing when I used Macrium Reflect Free to restore my system. Plus when Returnil is enabled those seem to pop up regularly. BTW, what restore point? my restore feature was disabled when I was creating image by means of macrium reflect...

those ati are very strange and I have no clue even if they are fixable.

Are you having problems with anything other than the errors in Event Viewer?

ummm not really
so you're reply will be: you have nothing to worry about right?

trial and error procedure proves that: my rig is doing fine

I got a reply from a cool moderator at returnil saying my issue is in fact a non-issue

yet I'd love to get a decent solution for atikmdag...

I haven't been able to find new gfx card drivers for my card, could anyone help me out? a direct link would be lovely, PM me if necessary

You read my mind!

I cannot locate the specs on your system. What country was it purchased in?

I suspect that it has this video chipset: ATI Mobility Radeon HD 4570

These are the beta drivers from ATI: ATI Catalyst? Mobility Display Driver
They suggest you get the updated Win7 drivers (non-beta) from Sony

Brand new addition:
The HomeGroup Provider service depends on the Function Discovery Resource Publication service which failed to start because of the following error:

I chose UK and still got german titles oh well hope you can infer from it what's necessary anyways
Vaio : Sony Europe : Specifications

I'd suggest you post a screenshot of all your Windows Services for comparison, as some of the errors you're getting could point to one or two service failures - and if something's not right at this level other posters can usually quickly put you correct and get anything sorted

Those pesky temp files
What are we supposed to do with temp files? With compelling names like a81df204-8d65-4a94-8ebb-145b3c68a909, one is never quite sure what it is, or what will happen if it is deleted. They pile up in drifts like winter snowbanks but no spring sunshine ever seems to melt them away. OTOH, if...

So, about those pesky external hard drives...
Long title..I know. For whatever reason, this latest build has caused windows to not pickup my external USB hard-drive on startup, I have to physically unplug it and replug it in each time. Any ideas or fixes? I did a quick search but perhaps I'm not using the right words because I didn't find...
