Please help, temp user account?

Sorry if this is in the wrong section, or if it has been answered before but I really need help. I logged on to my pc to find it saying 'preparing your desktop', and when it has logged on, Windows says that it is a temp account. I've managed to find my documents but my programmes have disappeared? Please, someone out there, help. I use this pc for my student life and I must have hundreds of pounds worth of programmes on there. Please help. Sorry if I haven't suppiled enough information, but I am upset about this

I apologise, I have fixed this now, a simple reboot fixes the PC.

For any other Windows 7 user with this problem, reboot first. I'm sorry if I wasted anyone's time.
