    BSOD and randon freeze

    Hi

I recently upgraded from RC to Ulitimate.

I have another computer using the same network and sometimes when this other computer accesses the network my computer will crash. However it will not always create a minidump file.

Also there are random freezes and crashes which do not create a minidumps.

I have only has the Ultimate installed for 3 days so there are only two minidump files to attach.

These problems were happening in the RC version but I was hoping the Ultimate version might solve that, but apparently not.

Thanks in advance for any help offered.

    Hi xile, Welcome to SF,

On Sun 1/3/2010 2:58:26 AM your computer crashed

This was likely caused by the following module: win32k.sys
    Bugcheck code: 0x1000008E (0xC0000005, 0x7B9086F3, 0x8E6D5C48, 0x0)

I suspect the problem is with your Audio drivers that is causing crashes. I believe your using SB X-Fi Xtreme Audio. Also ADI 1980 onborad according to your My System Spec (http://support.dell.com/support/edoc...i/sm/specs.htm).

Uninstall the current audio drivers then try to install the drivers from our Stick thread Creative Sound Cards. for Creative and You could disable onborad Sound (ADI 1980) from Device Manager and uninstall those drivers

    Hope this helps

it's kinda funny if your using the same hardware that you would have a problem with the RTM release but not the RC go figure

Ok so I uninstalled the audio driver and installed from the link provided. Had two crashes along the way and one since.

    Didn't have ADI 1980 installed.

Have attached the latest dump files.

    Thanks again.
