Problem Fixed!!!!

I bought a new computer.

Many thanks to usasma and others for contributing to this thread.

I just wasn't getting time enough to run the required diagnostics, nor would it have neccessarily made me confident enough in the OS to trust it to run my working life, without worying about what will happen next.

So still plagued by BSOD's and underconfident in the whole computer I copped out and threw the lot in the bin and bought a new one, which is now working fine with win64.

Once again, many thanks for your time and help in attempting to nail the problems with my old one, but I didn't feeel like wasting any more of mine and everybody else's time persisting with it.

Thanks for letting us know!
It's your system and it's gotta do what you want it to do - so there's no problem with swapping it for a new one.
And that appears to have solved your problems also!
Good luck and thanks for the kind words!
