hi, i recently purchased and built a new computer with specs:-

-NVIDIA XFX GTS 250 GForce PCI Express 1GB GDDR3 Graphics card

Running WINDOWS 7 ULTIMATE and have all current up to date drivers. I continually get 'bsod'errors (see below)

Have run benchtesting software (everest) that maxes out everything and it won't crash the system so unsure why I am getting these random 'bsod'

Sorry for the long post but maybe the extra errors may help somebody identify what my my problem is

Running exact same appications and o/s on an older computer upstairs and no probs

    Any help would be appreciated

I suggest remove a pair of RAM sticks and see if the system becomes more stable, run memtest86 overnight and also make sure ALL drivers are fully up to date especially chipset and graphics card, and then please upload the minidump file for the experts here to take a look at, not neccesarily in that order

memtest86 run, drivers sweet, .dmp files upload

ok, drivers are all sweet according to DRIVERROBOT

Run 'memtest86'version 3.4 (advised running over 4gig of RAM) overnight all night. It completed 2 passes and was 30% into the 3rd pass this morning. Tell me:-

'Pass complete, no errors, press ESC to exit'

I have written down all the values on the screen before pushing escape so would you like these or is there some sort of dump I can also upload here for you.

I am now uploading the .dmp files for you to look at.

    Thanks again

if all your hardware checks out another option is virtual driver software, some virus scanners will install a heuristics driver for instance, or some disc recording software may install a virtual disc drive (image drive).

these dump files are old do you have any from the last few days ?

all these references are for memory management and PFN_LIST_CORRUPT which is (Page Frame Number list or PFN) so although it tested ok I would still be looking for the problem with memory, can I suggest you remove the ram and make sure the slots are clean then replace just one pair and run the system for a while to see how it behaves ?

another couple of question's is are you overclocking and do you get a bluescreen crash when in safe mode ?

no more recent .dmp files sorry. i am unsure why. i have my bsod setting to freeze (not reboot auto) so i can jot down the errors. the past few errors (which are in my original post) haven't given an error message (heading) such as the PFN_LIST_CORRUPT & MEMORY_MANAGEMENT and although it says it is doing a dump no files are being dumped. I always collect any dumps and put them in another folder so they can't be written over

in relation to the latest question, no i am not overclocky, haven't tried running in safe mode as my bsod are so infrequent running in safe mode for such long periods would hinder my usability (drivers, internet, etc), would it not

will attempt cleaning slots and running only 2 sticks of RAM at a time

well if cleaning reseating and replacing to run with less RAM doesn't solve anything then we need safe mode running well to prove it's drivers :)

at this point you will then need all boxes ticked except for "auto reboot" in "system recovery" so we can examine the full minidump file and attempt to find which driver(s) is causing the crashes

if you want to be able to look through your mindump files you can use blue screen viewer

have you taken a look through event viewer to match an event to a crash ?
