    Windows 7 Crashes - Rebooting

    Hi,

I've already searched this section and see many are having this problem, and first and foremost I want to know if this is a Windows issue or a HardWare issue...does anyone know?

I have never had a system crash like this without errors, it just suddenly reboots? It's only happed 4 times Randomly, sometimes the computer is not even in use, you just come back to a message telling you windows has recovered from a serious error and had to restart ( something like that)....today it restarted while on the internet and email ( nothing out of the ordinary).

I attached a couple of files with my system info ( DxDiag and Belarc)

    H/W Diagnostics:
Please start by running these bootable hardware diagnostics:
Memory Diagnostics (read the details at the link)
HD Diagnostic (read the details at the link)

Also, please run one of these free, independent online malware scans to ensure that your current protection hasn't been compromised: Malware (read the details at the link)

    Upload Dump Files:
Please go to C:\Windows\Minidump and zip up the contents of the folder. Then upload/attach the .zip file with your next post.
Left click on the first minidump file.
Hold down the "Shift" key and left click on the last minidump file.
Right click on the blue highlighted area and select "Send to"
Select "Compressed (zipped) folder" and note where the folder is saved.
Upload that .zip file with your next post.

If you have issues with "Access Denied" errors, try copying the files to your desktop and zipping them up from there. If it still won't let you zip them up, post back for further advice.

If you don't have anything in that folder, please check in C:\Windows for a file named MEMORY.DMP. If you find it, zip it up and upload it to a free file hosting service - then post the link to it.
Then, follow the directions here to set your system for Minidumps (much smaller than the MEMORY.DMP file): Set MiniDump

    Hi usasma,

thanks for replying, I could not find time tonight to do the scans. I have previously done an HP "Smart" scan on the hard drive which took over 2 hours and it passed with no issues....but I'll try and to the others tomorrow.

I attached the Minidump file ( there was only one).

    Thanks for looking

The dump file points at NETIO.SYS - a component of the networking sub-system of Windows.

    As such, I'd suggest:
    - downloading a fresh copy of the latest networking drivers for your system.
    - uninstalling the currently installed network drivers
    - installing the freshly downloaded copy
    - monitor for further BSOD's

    Summary of the BSOD:
    Code:
    Built by: 7600.16385.amd64fre.win7_rtm.090713-1255
    Debug session time: Sat Jan 9 14:19:48.571 2010 (GMT-5)
    System Uptime: 0 days 3:20:33.444
    BugCheck 7F, {8, 80050031, 406f8, fffff80002a9a40f}
    Probably caused by : NETIO.SYS ( NETIO!CompareSecurityContexts+6a )
    DEFAULT_BUCKET_ID: VISTA_DRIVER_FAULT
    PROCESS_NAME: System

    hi usasma,

Sorry haven't had much time, I created a Bootable ISO disk and restarted with it in the drive but it never gave me an option to do a scan just more or less gave me Drive details. I also installed the SeaTools for windows and ran a full scan, the test was successful.

all my drivers are up to date.

I'm just going to monitor for now, as it hasn't happened since...and try to isolate when it happens.

    thanks for your help.
