    Win7 reboots at startup.

I have been running 7 on my machine for a couple weeks now. Then upon turning on the PC one morning the start up got to the Windows start up screen and then just as the flying windows colored orbs were to appear the PC restarts.

At first I let the Start up repair to try and fix the problem. It did not. Every I start from a cold boot the PC restarts at the the same point, just as the first red dot appears in the start up screen.

I then reformatted and re-installed. No luck. I then updated my BIOS. No luck.

The strange thing is that if I restart things work just fine, but it restarts every time on a cold boot.

    Any thoughts?

    Welcome!

Can you try looking in the Event Viewer to see if anything was documented?

    Thanks,

Did you try, in you BIOS, "Load optimized defaults"?

Have you swapped out the memory?

    Have you ran a memtest?

    Problem Solved

Thanks folks! I loaded the optimized BIOS settings and that did the trick.

Same issue same answer, mine was because I messed with adding a hard drive and checked wrong options in BIOS. So relieved to have my computer up and running!

Sorry for the smiles that is just how I roll
