Windows 7 - Problem Event Name BlueScreen Hello everyone,
I bought my acer aspire 5739G(744G50MN) laptop two months ago. The OS is Windows 7 64-bit Home Premium. The last 10 days it has crashed about 10 times. I haven't realised what causes the problem. Suddenly a blue screen appears but I don't have the time to read it. Then the screen goes black and nothing happens. I have to press the power button for some seconds for it to shut down. When I turn it on again there is this message

Also, when I try to turn it on again, sometimes, it doesn't turn on. I press the power button, the light of power turns on and...nothing. I have to press it again and again. The last time I had to try 10 times before it finally turned on.
I'd appreciate it if you could help me!

Hi and welcome Mariana
This one was caused by a bad driver but the memory was corrupted before it was recorded. If you have the other dmp files we could use them to narrow the focus.
In the mean time I would
run a system file check to verify and repair your system files
type cmd in search>right click and run as admin>dfc /scannow
If you are overclocking STOP
If you have a raid update its driver
Hope this helps

Try a temperature monitor to see if the system is overheating. Here's a free one: Download SpeedFan - Access temperature sensor in your computer
Blow out the fan vents with a can of compressed air (don't use a vacuum cleaner or an air compressor - it'll cause damage). Ensure that the fan is working (by feeling the air being blown out of the vents).
The dump files don't firmly establish blame - but they do cause me to wonder about your AVG. Please do the following: Quote: Anti-Virus Removal:
Please do the following:
- download a free antivirus for testing purposes: Free AntiVirus
- uninstall the Norton from your system
- remove any remnants of Norton using this free tool: Download and run the Norton Removal Tool
- IMMEDIATELY install and update the free antivirus
- check to see if this fixes the BSOD's Then please wait and see if there are further BSOD's. If there are, please run Driver Verifier according to these directions: Quote: Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition. Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is. But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver. Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows. If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.
So, I'd suggest that you first backup your stuff and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Windows 7 Startup Repair feature).
Then, here's the procedure:
- Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
- Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
- Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
- Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
- Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
- Select "Finish" on the next page.
Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out.
Reboot into Windows (after the crash) and turn off Driver Verifier by going back in and selecting "Delete existing settings" on the first page, then locate and zip up the memory dump file and upload it with your next post.
If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.
If that doesn't work, post back and we'll have to see about fixing the registry entry off-line.

Thank you all guys for your time!
Here's what happenned: when I attached the rest of the dpm files I noticed that the dates weren't right. I noticed that the same was happenning with the log. So my brother(who knows muuuch more) said it could be the BIOS. We updated the BIOS and no bluescreen!! At least the whole day yesterday and today so far! I hope that was it!
