BSOD Clean Install Home Premium
Hello! My specs are:
Intel DP35DP
Intel Quad Core 2.4
2g RAM
160 gig westell sata HDD @7200 rpm
NVIDIA 8600GTX
SAMSUNG write master dvd drive
We are installing windows 7 home premium 64bit
Everything before the first reboot works smoothly. The installer restarts my computer and the option appears:
"1.
2.
Select CD-ROM Boot Type :"
selecting option 1 and letting the "press any key to boot from cd" option time out and selecting option 2 result in the same thing. The Starting Windows screen appears and then seconds after blue screens. My mother board does not support halting a BSOD so I can't get any information from that unless there is a work around that involves not getting into windows.
I currently have XP installed and working fine with this computer on a seperate and now disconnected HD. I've never had any issues with the hardware in the year and a half I had the computer.
I am looking for either a method in which to allow me to halt a BSOD with the DP35DP (im updating the bios after I take a momentary break to chill a bit) or any method to get around the BSOD entirely.
I understand the second option is a shot in the dark but with the wide spread nature of this problem I am hoping someone has found a solution. However with the nature of widespread problems relating to windows it is always easy to find someone with the problem but almost impossible to find someone with the fix.
Thank you for all your help and I will answer any questions I am able to.
EDIT: in the time between starting this post and submitting it I connected my old hard drive back to the computer and everything is working fine. the sata drive is disconnected currently.
