the difficult thing is that the problems are random and its difficult to reproduce the error consistantly, and windows hasnt really given me many clues as to where the problem lies, all that i know (thanks to Usasma) is there is an error with the dxmm1.sys or somthing, and there were a few ntfs.sys errors.....
We did however diagnose that there is a faulty HDD, but after i removed that from the system, i still got a BSOD, so we might be looking at to problems.....
Im sure we will get there eventually was the hdd the one with windows installed ? if not, did ou try to clean install again ? | My System Specs |

The BSOD that happened when you disconnected the hard drive was a STOP 0x1A: MEMORY_MANAGEMENT error ( BSOD Index).
It's possible that the removal of the hard drive caused this - but we can't tell for sure. So, I'd leave things alone and wait to see if the system BSOD's again.
Here's the rest of the info from the memory dump file....
These 2 older drivers are present (I can't recall what we decided to do with them): Code: GVTDrv64.sys Tue Sep 05 03:10:02 2006

Yea, i have done plenty of reinstalls, i did three on the old HDD, and one on the new HDD, installing on the new HDD did remove a few problems, and i am getting ready to send it back to be replaced. Im just making sure that there is a fault with the HDD, cause if they discern that the HDD is not faulty, i get slumped with all the handling and testing fee's, which is a little bit expensive.....
Since the last BSOD i have gone back to the 190.61 nvidia drivers, i dont want to speak to soon, but i havent had any problems, and i have had good system stability, trust me i wont be changing anything on the PC for at least 7 days with out a BSOD including updates or anything just incase
in relation to the GVTDrv64.sys, it was one of the gigabyte files, and i remember updating it.
As for the AODDriver, i have no idea either, i dont even own any AMD products.....
Ill keep you informed about how the system stabilty is going, so far the last BSOD was 3 days ago.

Hey Usasma,
So i got heaps of BSODs yesterday just out of the blue, i didnt change anything, no new program installs, nothing changed from the day before when it was working properly.....
However the only thing that did change, was that i put the side of the case back on..... cause i took it off to see how hot the video cards get. So i got a desk fan put it on high and took the side of the case of, still got errors, but about 5 min later, no problems, and nothing changed software wise, I'll leave the case of for now and see if it stays stable, then ill put the case back on, and see what happens.
So would heat issues make sence? cause the design of my video cards is single slot cooler, and the fan only covers the GPU as i can see the memory modules at the back of the card, which is where the hot air gets blown over. The only thing is that it did that furmark test for 20 min, and the GPU's got to 107 degrees celcuis (224.6 degrees Fahrenheit) and run at 70 Degrees under minimal load (158 degrees Fahrenheit) only thing is i cant remember if i did the test with the case on or off.....
Also during the BSOD the them changed, it went to a vist style then with the windows, restarted and problem fixed.... just thought it was strange
And following the random pattern (excuse the oxymoron) I was expecting to get the usuall HDD errors when running my game, but they didnt come up, which adds futher proof to the faulty HDD
So would heat issues explain the randomness of all these BSODs? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number self built OS windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit CPU intel i7-860 Motherboard gigabyte GA-P55A-UD4P Memory Corsair CMX4GX3M2A1600C9 (8GB total) Graphics Card Dual 8800GT's (in SLI) Sound Card Realtek on board Monitor(s) Displays 2x 24" LCD Screen Resolution 1920 x 1200 on both PSU 1x Corsair 1000w Case Silverstone TJ-07 Cooling 6 Case fans Hard Drives 1xWD raptor 150GB - OS + programs + pagefile

Case closed = BSOD's
Case open w/fan = no BSOD's (or, at least fewer)
Sound like a heat problem to me. Now you've just got to figure out what's overheating and causing the problems.
If you don't have a remote infrared temp sensor (about $30 US from a ski shop - used for temps on melted wax), then your finger will do
Close the case and wait for a BSOD
Unplug the system, open the case, hold onto the metal of the case.
Feel around inside the case with your other hand (CAREFULLY!!!). When you find the hot places, make a note of them (most common are the northbridge on the mobo, the RAM, the CPU, the PSU, the HDD's, the Video cards.
Then, plug the system in and check to be sure the fans are working (don't touch anything inside the case!!!). | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Home built (x64), Lenovo x61s Tablet, Samsung Netbook OS Win7 x64 + x86 CPU Intel i7 920, other Intel chips, and the Atom in the netbook Motherboard Asus P6T Deluxe Memory 12 gB; 4 gB Lenovo; 1 gB Samsung netbook Graphics Card ATI 4870 Sound Card Yes, I have one of these Monitor(s) Displays 32" Sharp Aquos TV Screen Resolution 800x600 - I have vision issues Keyboard Microsoft Natural Mouse Logitech Trackman PSU 1000 watt (can't recall the brand) Case Antec 300 Cooling Big honking cooler that was rated highly at Toms Hardware Hard Drives 4 - 150 gB Velociraptors in RAID 5

I think it would also be efficient to try using programs to read temps on your cpu. Try everest ultimate edition just to see. There is also speedfan and others programs. I guess you probably already know that anyway.
How man fans does your case have ? Is the airflow correct ? Air should go out by the rear/top of your case and fresh air should come in front/side. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 x64 CPU Intel Quadcore Q9550 2.83ghz stock speed Motherboard ASUS P5E3 Pro Memory Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM Graphics Card XFX HD RADEON 6870 Black Edition Sound Card Asus Xonar DS Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 226BW 22'' Panel A Screen Resolution 1650x1080 PSU Corsair 750 watt 80+ SLI ready Case NZXT Appollon Medium Tower Cooling Thermaltake TMG 1 Hard Drives Western Digital Black Caviar 1TB

well we were close, i had the case of and a desk fan blowing inside and i still got a BSOD, just as we get close there is an error that disproves our theory.....
I have to fans on the top, to on the side, 2 for the HDD bay, and a 40CM fan blowing cool air all over the case. I checked all the temps, they seem ok, my only conrecnt was the video cards, but apparently they are supposed to run that hot,
My Northbride is roughly 40 degrees and my CPU is 20 degress at idle, 40degrees at load.
I was speaking to my uncle and he suggested removing one stick of ram, and only populate 3 dimms and see how that goes, and so far no BSOD
Also would mix the same model or ram but a different version cause an error?

Mixing ram is not recommended. There might be a chance that this was your problem. Even thought it's the same kind, same model, if it's not the same version, then it may cause a problem. | My System Specs | | OS Windows 7 x64 CPU Intel Quadcore Q9550 2.83ghz stock speed Motherboard ASUS P5E3 Pro Memory Mushkin Enhanced Blackline 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR3 SDRAM Graphics Card XFX HD RADEON 6870 Black Edition Sound Card Asus Xonar DS Monitor(s) Displays Samsung 226BW 22'' Panel A Screen Resolution 1650x1080 PSU Corsair 750 watt 80+ SLI ready Case NZXT Appollon Medium Tower Cooling Thermaltake TMG 1 Hard Drives Western Digital Black Caviar 1TB

Yea, i thought there could be a problem there with the differing versions, however this is corsairs response,
These modules are compatible with your system. You should not have any problem running these modules together even they have different revisions; however, there will be a lot more stresses on the memory controller on the system when all memory slots are filled; to compensate for these stresses, memory controller will need to run these modules at a slower speed. There is a great chance that you will need to run them at DDR3 1333 speed. The best analogy is car performance; the more passengers you have, the slower the car goes. You will have to balance between performance and capacity when comes to adding more RAM to the system.
so far i have been 3 days with out a BSOD, so if the system stays stable with only 3 modules in, then that is the answer to my problem.
It has been 6 weeks of searching, and i hope this is the answer
