System Won't Boot into Windows 7

Hello Friends
I had windows 7 Prof. installed about a month ago and everything was running find, usually all I do to start my computer is to touch the mouse and the system will come to life. Yesterday I did that and everything was working find, then I tried using Nero Digital Media Software, but Nero won't load. I decided to reboot the system and maybe Win 7 will then load all the system resource that will enable Nero to run as usually. I went to START and click on RESTART, for the next twenty minutes the screen say windows is shutting down. As this has taken longer than usual, I decided to pressed the Reboot button on the Case, it started rebooting and hung up at the mobo logo and won't boot into Windows 7. I try using the windows 7 install disk to boot from it, but it still hung at the mobo logo and won't boot from the disk.
Can anyone help me solve this issue? Thanks in advance.

Welcome!

First, I will say this sounds almost like a hardware issue to me, but I will hope for the best.

Where does it hang when you boot from the disc? What is the mobo logo?

It doesn't even get to "press any key to boot from disk" it hang just when the screen shows the Asus Motherboard Logo and doesn't go any further.

Definitely sounds like a hardware issue now.

Do you have a desktop or laptop?

I hope it's not a motherboard problem. This may be a job for the warranty department...

What I would advise is unplug everything from your motherboard except the power cable. In other words, unplug all hard drives, CD drives, graphics cards, etc. Leave the RAM in.

Unplug all peripherals from your machine, too, except the monitor and keyboard.

Then power on your machine, and see if it passes the POST.

Thanks, theog. Can you think of a way to determine if the MB is bad?
