    Check for problems

is there a way to check for why your computer would crash, freeze, shut down improperly, etc and fix the problem? is there a way to scan and find if there are problems that exist on your computer?

I upgraded from winXP to win7 and there are some instances where things happen for no reason (it seems to me), I think because my comp really isnt meant to run win7 even tho it met all system requirements. I would really like to find out why something bad happens and how to prevent it from happening again

Probably the best place to start is to type event viewer, in search and look for errors.

2 times within an hour my comp shut down improperly and unexpectedly. once was manually bc it froze, and after 5-10 min i just shut it down. then i was on youtube and randomly the blue screen came up saying windows was trying to prevent a fatal problem or something of that nature.

is all this because of the upgrade from xp to 7? i had xp for a year and a half and never had a problem with it.

I would tend to agree that the upgrade played a part in this scenario. It,however is not the fault of the OS, but rather a bad installation or a virus. We, at Seven Forums will do everything possible to get your computer working properly. Have a little faith and things will work out. There are many remedies to your problem. We just need to figure the cause, first.

The blue screen probably prepared a dump file, making a copy of that will help to resolve your problem.
