Ram would be the obvious thing to check first, i would check ram settings in bios timings/voltage/frequency to make sure they are set correctly
I personally believe its best to manually enter this info rather than having it set to auto as sometimes it will not auto set properly, is new ram the same make/speed etc as the original ram as if not that may cause some issues, if they are rated at different speeds then you will need to set it to run at the speed of the slowest ram
Also try downloading and running memtest to check the ram for errors, more info here
Memory Diagnostics i would recommend running this for minimum of 5 passes or overnight if possible as sometimes needs multiple passes before errors are found
Hope this helps
