    BSOD 64-bit during games

    While playing either
    - Dragon Age Origins
    - Dungeons and Dragons Online (MMO)
    - May crash in other games, but these are the only two I loaded and tried on this OS so far

    Details
    - New assembly of parts
    - brand new 4 GB Corsair memory
    - brand new Intel Quad CPU
    - brand new 80 GB Intel SSD drive (sweet!)
    - brand new 850 Watt Corsair PSU
    - Clean OS install (two weeks ago)
    - not a warez version of OS
    - Have tried swapping out most parts
    - video cards
    - memory
    - Latest drivers on everything (as best as I can tell)
    - Have tried forcing speeding up the GPU fans before starting games (in case of overheating) - doesn't seem to make a difference
    - Have been watching CPU/GPU temps (with GPU-Z), don't believe it is an overheating issue

I don't get a consistent BSOD message, but it only happens when the CPU/GPU is loaded in a game. Contemplating going back to Win 7 32-bit, but I'm not sure that will fix anything. Hate to do that only to have it still BSOD.

I would play with the graphics drivers.
Start with the oldest one you can get and work forward till it's stable.

Do the games BSOD in the same place or is it totally random?

    Hi and welcome

In order for us to help we need the actual DMP file. Use these to find and upoad it. https://www.sevenforums.com/crash-loc...d-problem.html

    Hi PE and welcome

The causes of these crashes are all over the map. When there are that many causes it usually indicates hardware.

The first thing to check is the memory.

Download memtestx86 and run for 5 passes

    Run a system file check
type cmd in search>right click and run as admin>sfc /dccannow

    If you are overclocking stop
If you have a raid update its driver.

    Let us know the results

well I can eliminate some of those things off the bat
    - Not overclocking
    - have tried forcing the memory voltage to 2.2 (recommended from Crucial 2.1)
    - have tried other memory chips
    - per my initial post, I only have one HD - IBM SDD 80 GB, so no raid

I'll run the other stuff presently...

    More info

Well in doing more research, it appears that the MB, an ASUS P5QL Pro, appears to have a problem with its 'Memory Remap' feature in the BIOS. If I turn on 'Memory Remap,' the BIOS (and OS) will see the full 4 GB of RAM. However I get BSOD problems. If it turn off the 'Memory Remap' feature in the BIOS, the BSOD issue appears to go away - at the cost of only seeing 3.3 GB in the BIOS and OS.

    So I can:
    1. give up nearly a quarter of my RAM for stability
    OR
    2. keep the ram and instability

Sigh! I'll probably go with #1 until I can convince ASUS to fix their BIOS issue.

    RE: MemTest86+
I get errors here if 'Memory Remap' is enabled, no errors if it is disabled. More testing to do to verify this though.
