    BSOD while installing

    Hello everyone!
I've recently bought myself a new laptop (Sony VAIO FW) which came with Windows 7 Home Premium installed. I was very anxious to try it out, and all went extremely well. But today my laptop unexpectedly BS'ed on me. Thinking it was no big deal (after all, I've experienced many blue screens in the past without it affecting my pc much) I simply ignored it and went on with what I planned to do, install Adobe CS3.
90% completed and then, suddenly, blue screen. I've copied the error codes and such, I really can't figure this one out, I'm hoping one of you can..

    Problem signature:
    Problem Event Name: BlueScreen
    OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.768.3
    Locale ID: 2067

    Additional information about the problem:
    BCCode: 19
    BCP1: 0000000000000003
    BCP2: FFFFFA8008397330
    BCP3: FFFFFA8008397320
    BCP4: FFFFFA8008397330
    OS Version: 6_1_7600
    Service Pack: 0_0
    Product: 768_1

Files that help describe the problem:

I'd be really grateful if someone could help me with this one. It's bugging me, especially since it's a brand new computer..

    Hi Vince and welcome

As always we need the actual DMP file. You can use these to find and upload it. https://www.sevenforums.com/crash-loc...d-problem.html

    Thanks

Hi there, I know this place has been flooded with people asking for help with their BSOD issues. But still I'd like to press the fact I've been getting more BSOD's and a lot more frequent. I'm just a little worried I have to ship my laptop up for repairs, which will cost me time and thus money.

So once again, here are my specs, and a zip file of all the dmp files I've found in the minidump folder.

Sony VAIO NW (Windows 7 Home Premium 64 bits) 4Gb RAM, 2.2 GHZ Intel Core 2 DUO.
The BSOD's appear mostly when installing software from Adobe (though I doubt the problem lies there) first I tried it with CS3, then the trial for Photoshop CS4 gave me the same problems. After rebooting, and trying again, the CS4 install was successful without any BSOD's. But still the problem persists, and I've been getting them at what seems to be random intervals.
I checked my drivers, they're all up to date. I included the zip file with the dmp files here.

    Thanks for any help !

    greets

SFEP.sys (based on issues that I had with a Sony at work). The cure (at work) was to wipe and reinstall Win7. I hope that it doesn't come to that with your system!

Please visit the Sony support website and update the Sony Firmware Extenson Parser.

Also, please remove the InterVideo player from your system it's regi.sys driver is also outdated.

If those 2 changes don't remedy the issue, then please run Driver Verifier according to these directions:
Using Driver Verifier is an iffy proposition. Most times it'll crash and it'll tell you what the driver is. But sometimes it'll crash and won't tell you the driver. Other times it'll crash before you can log in to Windows. If you can't get to Safe Mode, then you'll have to resort to offline editing of the registry to disable Driver Verifier.

So, I'd suggest that you first backup your stuff and then make sure you've got access to another computer so you can contact us if problems arise. Then make a System Restore point (so you can restore the system using the Vista/Win7 Startup Repair feature).

    Then, here's the procedure:
    - Go to Start and type in "verifier" (without the quotes) and press Enter
    - Select "Create custom settings (for code developers)" and click "Next"
    - Select "Select individual settings from a full list" and click "Next"
    - Select everything EXCEPT FOR "Low Resource Simulation" and click "Next"
    - Select "Select driver names from a list" and click "Next"
Then select all drivers NOT provided by Microsoft and click "Next"
    - Select "Finish" on the next page.

Reboot the system and wait for it to crash to the Blue Screen. Continue to use your system normally, and if you know what causes the crash, do that repeatedly. The objective here is to get the system to crash because Driver Verifier is stressing the drivers out. If it doesn't crash for you, then let it run for at least 36 hours of continuous operation (an estimate on my part).

Reboot into Windows (after the crash) and turn off Driver Verifier by going back in and selecting "Delete existing settings" on the first page, then locate and zip up the memory dump file and upload it with your next post.

If you can't get into Windows because it crashes too soon, try it in Safe Mode.
If you can't get into Safe Mode, try using System Restore from your installation DVD to set the system back to the previous restore point that you created.
If that doesn't work, post back and we'll have to see about fixing the registry entry off-line.
