    Window 7 Blue screen

Hi I am a newbie so hope I am following forum rules!

I have last night and today got various blue screens and wondered if anyone would be able to shed any light on what they mean or what I may be can do to rectify the problem (if there is anything I can do).

below is the message I get when the computer restarts, I have also attached a winrar of the copy of the minidump file, which I hope I have done correctly.

Problem signature: Problem Event Name: BlueScreen OS Version: 6.1.7600.2.0.0.256.1 Locale ID: 2057 Additional information about the problem: BCCode: d1 BCP1: 0000004F BCP2: 00000002 BCP3: 00000000 BCP4: 9318B7C4 OS Version: 6_1_7600 Service Pack: 0_0 Product: 256_1 Files that help describe the problem: C:\Windows\Minidump\020310-29920-01.dmp C:\Users\powerc\AppData\Local\Temp\WER-65458-0.sysdata.xml Read our privacy statement online: Windows 7 Privacy Highlights - Microsoft Windows If the online privacy statement is not available, please read our privacy statement offline: C:\Windows\system32\en-US\erofflps.txt

I would really appreicate some help and thank you in advance for any advice given.

    Hello and welcome to SF

You have a mixture of two error codes in the dumps
    0x9F BSOD Index
    0xD1 BSOD Index

This is almost certainly a driver issue, most dumps are blaming the driver sys163u.sys, i would start with updating this driver, i believe this driver is related to a usb wireless stick

Also the driver rtnicxp.sys 31/03/08 is also quite old and could do with updating, this is a realtek networking driver

Post back your results and we can take this further if required

    Hi Carrie-anne and welcome

This is pretty straight forward. All of these were caused by the same thing which is good because we can really sure that it is th sus163u.sys. This is a file of the Trendnet and it seems the latest driver crashes windows. Yours is dated 3 years ago and needs to be updated

You need to download a new driver and install it. I found one I think will work here. http://www.opendrivers/ EDIT LINK IS BROKEN GO TO TRENDNET INSTEAD. THANKS PAULY

If not you can go to trendnet and get their newest driver and that should cure it.

Let me know if it does not

    Good Luck

    Ken

Thank you both for your replies.

I am pretty novice when it actually comes to the workings of the computer so really didn't have a clue where to go to get those two drivers updated or what i should be looking for so I ended up downloading Driver Genius and it scanned my drivers and actually come up with the realtak/trak? one and another one, I have updated those drivers and at the moment, fingers x'd it has worked.

So thanks again for steering me in the right direction, hopefully I won't have this problem again, but definately bookmarked the website for any future questions.
