Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit

Thanks usasma,

I'm running 3 different hard drives, do I need to download an HD diagnostic tool for each drive or is there one which will do them all. Also, is there an easy way to find out what makes my drives are without having to physically get in to look at them as it would take ages to get them out of my moded case?

Just an update. Don't know if this helps or not but IE keeps crashing then recovering the tab. No particular websites, just random.

Windows 7 Ultimate 32bit

another update;

had 2 crashes today where the BSOD said 'NTFS.sys' but also had a crash where I got this message after a restart;
The file is possibly corrupt. The file header checksum does not match the computed checksum
in white writing at the top of the screen with an all black background.
I've had the 2nd message before on a few occassions, but this is the first time since the re-install of Win7.

Go into Device Manager and look for the drives there.
If the description is gibberish, just search google for the description.

It's best to use the test from the manufacturer on each of the drives - that way you're sure that the proper tests are scanning everything that the manufacturer built into the drive.
