Win7 problem: Bad Image errors after aprox 1 hr
Hi,
I am writing for help with a problem that I wasn't able to google an answer for.
I have recently upgraded my Asus A8J from Windows Vista Home to Windows 7 Premium. I've tried a clean install first but had trouble finding a driver for my inbuilt webcam. I then did a system recovery with the DVD that came with my notebook and then upgraded to Windows 7 Home first and from there to Windows 7 Professional (I found a manual online how to do that). That way I could keep my drivers and everything seemed to be working well.
The problem I am having now is that after aprox. 1 hour of computer usage I get many error messages – most of them bad image errors from different programs. I cannot even save any documents when this happens or shut the system down properly.
Here’s an example of other error messages I am getting once my computer is in that “weird” state. It seems whatever I click on will just give me a different error message. Here just a few …
1)Explorer.exe: The instruction at 0x…. referenced memory at 0x….. The memory could not be read.
2)Word has encountered a problem.
3)Not enough quota is available to process this command.
4)The required file gdiplus.dll cannot be found in your path. Install Microsoft Outlook again.
5)Notepad.exe: The paging file is too small for this operation to complete.
6)Outlook.exe: The exception unknown software exception (oxc06oP007e) occurred in the application at location 0x75a39617.
Additional information that might be relevant in finding a solution:
- My notebook is not on the list of supported Windows 7 Notebooks from Asus. It came with Windows Vista Home.
- I have got Avira Antivir Personal installed as a antivirus software. I’ve just done a complete system but there weren’t any detections.
- If I just switch the computer on and let it sit by itself for one hour. There were no problems.
- The main programs I am using are MS Outlook and Word 2007, Firefox as a browser and I’ve got generally several notepad windows open.
- I’ve repartitioned my hard drive with Qtparted into 4 partitions before I did the system recovery and upgrade to Win7.
Would be great if someone had any advice or suggestion what else I could try.
Cheers,
Jochen
