I need help! Too many bsods! (win7 x64, phenom, ddr3)

I have been looking through pages upon pages of forums with related issues in trying to solve my own problems but it got to the point that I need help from the pros.

I have a Windows 7 x64 OS, Asus M4A79XTD EVO mb with AMD Phenom II X4 955 @ stock (3.2GHz), Gskill Ripjaw DDR3 Ram @ 1600 (9-9-9-24-t2, 1.5v), EVGA GTX260 video card, and 600w psu. This system was built around Christmas and was overclocked to 3.6ghz but temps didn't go past 40C idle and 45-50C at load.

I cannot force the bsods to occur and they happen at random times (playing games, when the computer is not doing anything on the desktop, when I'm watching a video, surfing the internet). I can go for hours without a bsod but sometimes they occur within minutes of each other.

I will tell you what I have tried doing... I have since stopped overclocking. I ran memtest with BOTH sticks in and after 6 passes got no errors. I changed the voltage of the RAM and went back and forth between 1333 and 1600, changed the timings too. Updated drivers for video card and onboard network. I also rolled back the drivers for the onboard network. I switched the video card to the other PCI slot.

After doing all of the above (not all at once of course), I still get bsods. Just a few minutes ago I put in only one stick of ram and a bsod occurred right away on loading the desktop. I have the other in right now and so far nothing is happening. I'm going to go see if I can cause a bsod by playing a video or some games.

I've included a rar of several dump files for someone to look at. Maybe you guys can help me out, I use the computer for university work and I really need it to be stable! Doing GIS projects with bsod looming nearby is not fun at all...

I've been playing TF2 since the last post and so far no bsods...i'm thinking it was the other stick of ram... I need to run to lecture first and when I come back i'll run a memtest on the bad stick.

But I would still like some reassurance, if someone could look at my dumps please I'd appreciate it. Back in an hour :)

the 15 dumps are an assortment of errors varying from DRIVER_IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL through SYSTEM_SERVICE_EXCEPTION, BAD_POOL_HEADER, MEMORY_CORRUPTION, HARDWARE and PAGE_FAULT_IN_NONPAGED_AREA all very likely to have been caused by ram

you do have some old drivers showing in your latest minidump

Thanks for the update! I'm actually in a computer lab right now but I left the computer having the bsods at home running a bluray movie and adobe applications to see if it can cause a bsod. I'll look into updating these drivers if I can figure out what things they correspond to. But I'm 75% sure that I have one bad stick of ram... :/

UPDATE: I just got home and my computer is still up and running. I guess I do have a bad stick of ram...will run memtest on the bad stick right now

Now I have what I thought was the bad stick in by itself and I'm able to run many applications at once (playing a bluray movie, two graphic intense games, arcgis, adobe photoshop, 50 tabs in firefox). I don't see any bsods yet.

I also ran one pass of the "bad stick" and got no errors. I will probably run it even longer before I go to bed.

The most I did since was reinstall speedfan, I didn't take a look at the other outdated drivers yet. Can anyone else confirm or analyze the dump files I posted?

Another update: I probably am being too impatient, but I put back the two sticks of ram to see if I could get anymore bsods after failing to get any when only one stick was in. I still can't force a bsod by opening up as many things as I can...We'll see...

And so far no bsods...I had firefox open with 50+ tabs, codmw2, borderlands and tf2 running at the same time, a bluray movie, messaging programs open, speedfan, fraps, steam, arcmap, adobe photoshop, etc etc etc.... perhaps updating speedfan did the trick?...

ASACPI.sys is known to cause BSOD's: ASACPI.sys belongs to the Asus ATK0110 ACPI Utility ?
PxHlpa64.sys seems to be a driver associated with your CD\DVD rom and installed by maybe iTunes , Nero , Roxio or Zune by Microsoft ?
adfs.SYS is an Adobe Drive, file system driver ?

so the age of any related software might be the problem here ?

Thanks, I just got another bsod out of nowhere after being stable for since yesterday afternoon. I'll look into the ASACPI.sys and post my results. Wish me luck

I have no idea where ASACPI.sys is located or how to update it so I instead found a driver package/installation for it. I think I updated it. The ASACPI.sys that is in my C:\Windows\System32\drivers is dated at 10/10/2009 now but there is one that is dated 3/29/2005 in the C:\Windows\LastGood\system32\drivers. Is the latter of the two the drivers to roll back to? The backup? And the 10/10/2009 one is referring to the one that is installed now, so did I do it right?

As for the other two, I'm having a hard time googling them up. I'll try harder once I finish a midterm today, then the whole weekend can be devoted to making this computer bsod free. Thanks for the help again :)
