I have half a feeling that its related to my networking/internet...
It seems to happen very quickly only when i'm connected to the internet.. a message saying "Additional logon information may be required" message popping up on connect..
I uninstalled Browser Configuration Utility (it came on the motherboard disk), and this is my first reboot since uninstalling.. if i stop crashing/hanging, i'll let you guys know.
no go.. i still crash..
BIOS update done, still crash..
EDIT: I use Chrome BETA, if that matters.
additional note:
I also disabled some services (none of them microsoft) and about 90% of some startup programs.
I changed the BIOS settings. One section (inside ACPI) allows me to choose between three levels (C1 to C3). Each level corresponds to the generation of the devices installed and how they respond to energy saving sleep mode and hibernation.
My Phoenix BIOS are very simple compared with others. Apparently, the C-state configuration (as is called by Phoenix), coordinates how Plug and Play devices and the processor itself respond to the sleep mode and hibernation.
Finally, I decided to select only the C1 and C2 levels.
I have 28 hours without a BSOD or freeze.

I have 48 hours without a freeze or BSOD. I think the problem lies in the ACPI options. Some options may not be compatible with Windows 7 o hardware configuration. The sleep mode and hibernation works well since I changed the ACPI configuration (C_State).
I forgot to mention that "Windows event log" have reports of several 41 errors (Kernel-Power category 63) which correspond exactly with crashes. It is a common finding reported by other users who have experienced this kind of crashes (with o without BSODs) reported by Cheewongken.

UPDATE : I reformatted. No crashes as of yet.
I'm having the same issue. My hardware:
Asus P5KPL AM/PS mobo
Gigabyte Radeon HD 4350
I'm updating all my drivers. The only thing that I can see causing this is the fact that I had a very large number of tabs and windows open in Firefox.
Are the people who have their machines crashing all using a 3G dongle? Particularly of a Huawei brand?
I've noticed that whenever I use my Huawei e220 or e160g, my laptop will crash, either in the first few minutes, or up to 20 minutes afterwards. However, if I use any other type of internet connection, e.g. Ethernet or Wi-Fi, I never get a crash.
I think it's definitely something to do with the mobile broadband thing, but I've searched endlessly and haven't found a solution to it.
well its the same for me, but i'm away from the troubled computer since my last post.. so i can't say if i've had any crashes.
