About a week ago this system began to regularly freeze and BSOD.
The BSOD is:
A clock interrupt was not received on a secondary processor within the allocated time interval
Disable BIOS memory options such as caching and shadowing
STOP: 0x00000010
The freezing is much more regular than the BSOD and happens typically 10 minutes after boot.
Uninstalling the video drivers and letting Windows install video drivers took the system from 10 - 30 minutes of use yesterday.
Today the system freezes when trying to reinstall windows and has given a different BSOD (one time only):
Machine_Check_exception
Srop: 0x0000009C
This BSOD happened with the hardware configured as listed at the beginning of the thread.
Since then I have disconnected all the installed hard drives and tried booting with 2 other SATA drives.
At the same time I have removed all the RAM and divided them in to pairs then installed only one pair at a time - cycling through the pairs with each of the “new” sata drives.
I do not get a BSOD this way but the system still freezes.
Prior to trying to reinstall I also tried a host of measures gleaned from searching the internet:
Hardware:
Installed a different video card temporarily
Ran Memtest for 15 hours with all 6 RAM modules installed (no errors)
BIOS:
Disabled C State
Turned off Speed Step
Updated BIOS to latest version
Tried to run RAM at 800Mhz
Changed Ai Overclock Tuner Profile from Auto to X.M.P
Windows:
Disabled the RAC Task
Turned off hybrid sleep
Looked at Power Managment Settings
So I am assuming at this point that it is either PSU, CPU or Motherboard but don’t know which it is. I don't have any other spare hardware to swap in and out of the system ...
The only minidupms that I could find are attached and are from yesterday.
I am troubleshooting this PC for a friend and it is plugged in to a UPS at my house.
Any help is much appreciated!
These were both caused by your video driver. See analysis below.
I would
uninstall the current driver completely and go to nvidea for its replacement. dont use the win 7 update.
then I woul update the old drivers
and run
a system file check
type cmd in search>right click and run as admin>sfc /scannow
