ieframe.dll error

Hello,

My 2nd hp home laptop running windows 7 is throwing the following message:
"Access violation at address 723AC24 in module 'ieframe.dll'. Read of address 0000000B". The sequence of steps is as follows: I needed to work on 2 monitors. So, I connected my 2nd monitor, laptop detected it. Then I changed the orientation to 'extend displays'. At this time the 3rd party s/w which I need to use for my work worked fine. Afterwards, I disconnected my 2nd monitor. Now when I go back to my s/w I am not able to click anywhere in it. Not able to open any link in it etc. Instead, in the background, I get a pop-up with the above error.

What could be causing that error? Why isn't my s/w not working as it should?

Any suggestions about how to go about it?

Thanks,
MS
