Unmountable Disk Volume and BSOD
I have a Compaq Presario CQ70 Notebook PC, upgraded from Vista to Windows 7.
This morning when I tried to start up windows I get a Windows Error Recovery message with two choices: Launch Startup Repair and Start Windows Normally.
With repair it starts loading windows files and then starts loading windows, but It gets interrupted and turn black with a mouse pointer. ctrl+alt+delete does not respond nor does sticky keys (5xshift).
When I start windows normally, It does load windows but gets interrupted again but this time with a blue screen what says Unmountable Disk Volume.
However, I am able to go into BIOS and advanced boot options.
I've tried Safe Mode but I get the blue screen with the UDV error again. I've tried using a bootable repair cd, it does respond but after loading the files I get the black screen again. I also done the hard disk self test which I failed saying to replace hard disk 1 but I passed the SMART test.
Is the hard disk completely broken or will I be able to safe my files on it?
Can anyone help me with this problem?
