Computer Auto Shut off and won't boot 7

Hi, I need some real help. I'm stumped and I've been trying to fix this thing literally all day!
Basically, I upgraded window vista to windows 7 (for obvious reasons) and after the installation it wouldn't load anything and gave me an error message saying "USB status overcharge" or something along those lines. I managed to stop that by moving the hard drive into another PC and reinstalling windows 7. This then works fine whilst in that machine but when I try to move it back to the other machine, it goes to boot windows and just as the colours appear on the screen to do the windows logo the computer shuts itself down. I am trying to get it working on a computer that is running an AMD 64 X2 Dual Core 2.8ghz on an asus M2R32-MVP motherboard. Any feedback would be greatly, greatly appreciated.

Thanks very much,
Phil
