Windows 7: endless 'startup repair'

endless 'startup repair'

Hello there,

I have a HP Mini 110 notebook, with Windows 7 starter.
My notebook was installing updates after shutdown, but I accidentally shut the lid mid-updating. When I opened the lid again, it seemed to have froze, so I restarted the computer. It went into 'startup repair' when starting up, and hasnt stopped since. Been like this for hours and hours. It keeps on 'repairing' then restarting and then repairing again.

Looking through the internet, it seems there is a way to stop this, but only if you have Win 7 installed on a proper computer with a CD drive. Any way to break this endless cycle on a notebook?

Please, please help, and please reply asap, Ive only had this notebook for a few days, would hate to of wasted money on a problem like this.

Thank you for any help you have to offer.

Hi Theorah,

Welcome to 7 forums.

Turn off the laptop. Turn off the power sources also. Now, press and hold the power button of the Laptop for 10 - 15 seconds. Then, turn on your Laptop. Some times power draining could resolve such issues

♥ Cheers ♥

Thanks for your help so far. Haha Venths I wish that couldve been the solution, so much less work involved!
I'll try put this system drive onto a USB stick. Someone on another forum offered a similar solution, but the system drive would only let another Windows 7 OS take care of creating it. I hope this isnt the same. And if it is, any way to create a Win 7 system repair drive on a USB stick, but do so on a Win XP OS?

Thanks again for your help.

You have already *.ISO done and of course included image install.wim in that.So it make no difference on which Windows or architecture (x32 or x64) you do.

Two ways to make USB (the same method like for installation disk)

1)USB Windows 7 Installation Key Drive - Create
2)Windows 7 USB/DVD Download Tool
