Windows 7: BSOD Vista

BSOD Vista

I am trying to fix my blue screen of death that usually appears after I try to install a program or windows updates. Sometimes it restarts 3 times and then loads. Sometimes it seems that it will never restart until I shut down completely using power button.

Not really sure how to explain it any better. I have attached my Minidump. Would appreciate anyone's help. Thanks

Hi and welcome

This one was caused by your video driver. The causes are varied and leads me to suspect hardware, specifically memory

You should download memtestx86 test it cor 5 passes
run a system file check
type cmd in search>right click and run as admin>SFC /SCANNOW

Argument 0xC000009D, according to MSDN means the following:
Code:
0xC000009D, or STATUS_DEVICE_NOT_CONNECTED, indicates defective or loose cabling, termination, or that the controller does not see the hard disk.
Still, I don't think that the hard drive's really the problem. First off, you're in the Windows 7 support forum; you're running Vista. This post should be here: Vista Forums

Regardless, I know Vista as well, so I'll try to help you here. You're on original Vista - no service packs installed. Your drivers are very out of date because of it. Download and install service pack 1, then service pack 2.

SP2: http://www.google.com/url?sa=t&sourc...06T55vr4FvoinQ

Download and install both of them and see if BSOD's persist.
