Screen Freezes With Vertical Lines When Display Sleeps

My screen freezes when my laptop display goes into sleep mode. What is odd is that there are colored vertical lines that appear when this happens. I can not Ctrl ALt Del out, and can only do a hard reboot. I have never seen anything like this and thought that it could be a problem with my screen itself, but I would think that would happen at random times and not just when the screen sleeps. any help would be appreciated, Thank you....

Welcome!

Have you tried updating your graphics drivers? Try this driver: https://a248.e.akamai.net/f/674/9206...win7_64_dd.exe

I have uninstalled my driver and the ATI Catalyst Control Center and the problem stopped. When I reinstall both the driver and the CCC my computer works for about 24 hours and then the problem restarts again. Not sure what is causing this, cooling problem maybe?

Cyan & red speckly vertical lines across my screen?
I was listening to music through my headphones last night, and just before I switched off, I began seeing cyan lines and some red speckles around some of my desktop icons. I have a 27 inch all in one Asus, just one year old. A few months ago when it would go into sleep mode, the display would go to colored vertical lines. I would reboot and the computer would restart normally. Annoying, but not a big deal. We turned off the energy saver mode, so that we would...
