Corrupted Recycle Bin & computer freezing
Hey all,
I am also suffering from a corrupted recycle bin. It's strange though.
If you look at my specs you will see I have multiple HDD. My "E" drive is the 2TB Hitachi drive formatted GPT (not MBR) NTFS, no more than a month old. Everything ran perfectly on my previous Win7 Ult x64 image. I just recently did a full restore, wiped my drive clean and installed Win7 Pro x64. Everything is running well.
I have my xbox360 linked to my "E" drive for my movies. My dad was watching a movie on my xbox as I was watching a movie on my PC from the same drive (i have done this before). When I went to empty my recycle bin my computer completely locked up. I had to shut down.
When i restarted I tried to empty the bin and received the corrupt error. I deleted the bin from the drive with the CMD line. Error stopped. The error would come back after restart and PC continues to freeze.
I am currently running check disk on "E" and repairing. Its going to take a long time due to the size and amount of data. I am stumped for what could cause this. Is it the GPT format? Is WMC messing things up? Could I have just corrupted the drive with a bad file? After Check Disk if problem persists I will probably wipe drive.
All incite is welcome and encouraged. Thank You!!
