Windows 7 freezes soon after I get to the desktop

Hi.

I haven't had this problem earlier. Since about a month ago, I have to restart my computer twice. Every time I restart, without exception, my computer freezes about 20 seconds after it gets to the desktop.

I have to hold down the power button until my computer turns off and turn it back on. Then my computer works perfectly, with absolutely no hitches.

I hadn't installed anything new then, it just started happening. It's not malware, since I scanned my computer with ZoneAlarm and MSE and nothing was found.

tl;dr I have to restart my computer twice, because it freezes soon after it gets to the desktop the first time.

Hello Welcome to SF,

Try to Reboot the System in Selective Startup see whether that makes any difference

Good Luck,

Thanks! That worked perfectly. I just disabled a bunch of unneeded services in msconfig to get the job done.
