    Win7 64, lots of BSODs

    Hello all,

Recently I've bought a new computer, however I have a lot of BSODs since I've got it. Also programs (like IE, various games etc) stop running very often. The PC came preloaded with Win7 Home Premium 64-bit.

Here is a list of the hardware:
    - OZC Fatal1ty 550 watt.
    - Intel P55 Chipset (MSI-P55-GD45)
    - Intel Core i5 750 Quad core processor (4 x 2.66 GHZ)
    - 4 GB DDR3 1333Mhz Dual channel memory.
    - Sapphire ATI Radeon HD4850 1GB
    - 750 GB HDD (7200RPM, 32MB Cache)

I don't have much technical skills with computers but I hope I will be able to understand your answers :)

    Thanks in advance!

It appears to be hardware that is causing the issue.

First, open an elevated command prompt and enter sfc /scannow. That will scan for and repair bad system files.

Also try a memory test. Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using ImgBurn.

    Good luck!

Thanks for your reply! Sfc /scannow reported no errors.

However, Memtest did return errors, with every memory module. These errors occured during Test #3. Eventhough I removed every module once, the error always pointed to slot #1.

    Regards.

Sounds like you need to invest in some new RAM. Be sure to buy brand-name, and not the cheap stuff from China used on eBay.

Why not take the box back to the builder and have him replace the ram? Your memtest errors indicate that he didn't purchase quality ram or use the wrong speed product...

    I use OCZ's RAM (DDR PC3-10666 / p/n: ocz3g13332g).

Could it also be that there is something wrong with my mobo? Because I've removed every memory module once, but MemTest still found errors.

    Thanks in advance!

To find out, try testing your RAM in another machine that uses the same RAM type.

    Hello,

At the moment the colors are flickering a bit. It turns from normal to yellowish/brownish and back. Could this indicate a GPU problem?

    Thanks in advance!

It could. Do you have onboard graphics you could use instead? Remove the video card if possible.
