No Start up Programs plus Aero keeps turning off Hi,
I have had windows 7 for a few months and it has been running fine,
today when I turned on my laptop I do not seem to have any startup programs plus the desktop windows manager keeps need restarting for Aero themes to work.
I have tried adding the programs to start up but with no luck.
Is there anyone who knows of a fix please?
Thanks | My System Specs |

Easiest fix would be if you can set back to a previous restore point. Did you install anything (including updates) prior to the happening? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

You say "I tried restoring" - did that not work and what happened? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

If you restored to a time when this problem was not occuring and the problem did not go away, then it is not an OS problem (unless you did not take a restore point far enough back). Now we have to look at a hardware problem. Does that make sense to you? | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 |

Well, for starters you could check the disk with chkdsk in elevated cmd. Best is to use chkdsk c: /f then it will fix bad sectors on C (which I assume is your OS disk). | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number HP, Dell, Gateway, Toshiba - 4 laptops and 2 desktops OS Vista, Windows7, Mint Mate, Zorin, Windows 8 CPU from 1.6GHz Duo to i7 Monitor(s) Displays 2x HP w2207 Keyboard with trackball - no mices Mouse Trackball mice Hard Drives 5x HDD, 7x SSD, 12x Externals Internet Speed DSL 6000 No Start up Programs plus Aero keeps turning off problems?
