Random and just started. Went out of town for a week. Came home and boom. BSOD. Crash program says hardware, but how do I narrow it down to WHAT hardware?

yea this can jst happen ,,then it could go away as quick as it cam, I had alot blue scree death on my vista ,windows 7 has bee na dream so far.
What i done was restore to a time before i done any major changes ,so if you changed something go back maybe a lil before then using system restore.
Or if that fails try a factory restore /Clean install from disk

I'm guessing either your memory or hard drive is causing the issue.

Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using ImgBurn. Boot from the CD, and run at least 5 passes.

Also, see this page: Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities (Storage) - TACKtech Corp.

Download the appropriate tools for your hard drive and run a test.

Thanks I'll try the MemTest. I'm running a 64-bit system, does that matter?

Yes, it does matter. Download the version that support 4 GB or more of RAM.

Often RAM or hard drive are the issues, but not always.

Try testing your hard disk first.
