    BSOD Event ID 1001

Hi. I'm new to the forum and need help. I just got a blue screen claiming that windows was not shutdown properly and the system brought up this screen to protect my pc. The confusing part was that the pc had restarted 30mins after I had shut it down properly. Though during shutdown it had completed a windows update for windows defender. When I checked the event logs I saw this:

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000fe (0x0000000000000008, 0x0000000000000006, 0x0000000000000006, 0xfffffa80094c5b20). A dump was saved in: C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP. Report Id: 022610-35505-01.

A few hours beforehand I had plugged in my iTouch and updated it, windows automatically updated the ipod's drivers so I am wondering if that's the problem.

Another strange thing is that I noticed my Kaspersky hadn't done a full scan in 12 days when I have it set to run weekly. Windows defender (which is oddly no longer listed on my control panel) hasn't run since the 14th when that is set to run daily as well.

I tried to attach the dump file but it says i don't have permission. Though I'm the admin and only account on this pc.

    Help please?

we really need the actual file. If you are getting a permissions issue drag it to desktop. use these to find and upload it https://www.sevenforums.com/crash-loc...d-problem.html

ok i copied them to my desktop and made a zip file. i also noticed that when i tried to gain permission for the file the box popped up asking if i wanted to allow and it listed the program as Apple. So i am guessing this def. has to do with that ipod update i did. i just dont know how to uninstall and redo the driver.

on the event log it says the dump is in C:\Windows\MEMORY.DMP but that's just a file listed under the Windows folder. I tried to load it and a zip of it to this forum but neither worked. However I did find a file with the correct date and time under the minidump folder and that one worked as an attachment. Hopefully I did it right.

    Can anyone help me please?

BTW went to check why Defender wasn't completing it's scheduled scans. Tried viewing Scheduled Tasks in the control panel. When it opens it says 'background task config surveyor' has an error and that its either been modified or corrupted. But once I click ok, the scheduled tasks open and Defender is listed with no errors.
