USB Mouse sometimes not detected on boot

    Hi,

new build PC, and noticed that sometimes when I boot Win7 the mouse is not detected on the USB rear port. I moved to a new port when Win7 was loaded and it worked fine, detected etc. But serveral boots later it happened again. I rebooted and all was fine. Again several loads later and windows had no mouse detected. I navigated using the keyboard to the hardware and devices screen in CP and found sure enough a but ! next to the USB mouse. I did a trouble shoot and it re-installed the driver. Now so far no probs but is this a problem?

I know it might be hardware (new pc build an all) but wondered if there was a general USB legacy issue.

Mouse is an older Microsoft intelli point USB one. Had no problems with it on older XP computer for over 4years.

    Ideas?

    Andy

check bios for USB options... You may also need to a: update/flash bios and / or b: update your smbus drivers

Yep, I think I might so that, I did neglect to mention I did have a couple of Keyboard PS2 port not detects. Starting to wonder if the motherboard is seated correctly (blame the self builder - me).

Oh well, just thought I'd check with the masses.
